I did not start exercising until later in my adult life. At that point, my exercise consisted of Zumba a couple times a week and then some walking onthe treadmill or elliptical. It can be said that my workouts were routine and somewhat boring. One day a friend from the gym encouraged me to try a rowing class. This introduced me to Kristy. Soon, I joined 2 other classes that Kristy was teaching and then I decided to step it up a notch by signing up for some personal training with her. I was worried about trying something new because I have had some issues with my knees but Kristy adjusted the workouts and encouraged me to do things I never thought I could. She pushed me to work hard in a firm but caring manner. Kristy also offered me advice about eating healthy and provided me with many other resources that helped me maintain a positive attitude towards fitness and my self-image. Kristy takes pride in every client she trains and helps them reach their goals. She is vested in her clients' success and her vast knowledge enables her to individualize programs. In training the Clarion Area Girls Varsity Soccer team through the Peak Performance program at the Clarion County YMCA, Kristy went abouve and beyond 'average' fitness. It was evident that she researched our sport, specifically, to help modify every workout to benefit us as soccer players. Each exercise used was thouroughly explained to us so we knew more than just 'how' to do it, but we knew 'why' we were doing it. Overall as a team, we were faster, stronger, and able to focus more on skills when the season came. My personal performance was improved greatly, with better speed, agility, and balance. Kristy was also extremely flexible working with each players schedule, even when she was constantly swamped, she always made time for us. On a more personal level, Kristy has helped shape my life in ways I can not explain. Even though our training was team based, she made time to individually work with each player. Kristy taught me to love my body. Having a history of an eating disorder and just your average self-image problems, I didn't think this was possible. Kristy showed me what my mind and body can do together, and my strength is limitless. I truly beleive that no other personal trainer could have instilled the high level of self-confidence that I now carry with pride. It carries with me in my everyday life. Kristy has greatly inspired me to always take care of my body. I become stronger everyday.
